Description:

The National Youth Service (NYS) is a South African government initiative designed to engage youth in community service, aiming to enhance service delivery, foster patriotism, promote nation-building, and strengthen social cohesion. In partnership with the Southern African Association of Youth Clubs (SAAYC) and Youth Build South Africa (YBSA), the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) provides administrative support to the NYS. Recognizing the significant benefits of youth volunteering, the NYDA seeks to combat high youth unemployment by offering young people the opportunity to serve 16 hours weekly in their communities.

Participants will apply their existing skills while acquiring new ones, gaining valuable experience that can lead to better career opportunities. The program includes comprehensive training in orientation, life skills, and work readiness, preparing youth for successful transitions into sustainable livelihoods and personal development.

If selected, you'll join a WhatsApp-based learning adventure called "Make Your Own Money." The goal is to give you the knowledge and tools to earn money during and after the programme.

Requirements:

If you have Grade 11 or 12, or NCV (National Certificate Vocational) Level 3 or 4, you can apply for opportunities in schools and other technical fields.
